Free The Line

2023

My first personal project involved blending a Space Invaders-style game with platformer controls. Various objectives were introduced to diversify the gameplay, along with power-ups to add dynamism.
What I am proud of:
  • My first attempt at a personal game.

  • Multiple objectives.

  • Blending two styles of gameplay.

Acquired skills
  • Chore mechanics

  • Prototyping

  • C# code

  • Scene management

  • HUD Design

  • Blockout

With the benefit of hindsight:
  • I would avoid mixing two mechanics that require height on screens wider than they are tall.

  • I would test my core mechanics more thoroughly before continuing development.

  • I would add effects for more "juice".
